We are optometrists in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Our forefather, H.G. Willis, started the practice downtown on the corner of 101st Street and Jasper Avenue in 1921 on the ground floor of the Empire Block. His motto was “See Willis and See Well.” Dr. A.C. Willis joined the practice around 1945 when H.G. Willis retired. Dr. A.C. Willis practiced until the early 1980's. Dr. David Plotsky graduated in 1965 and joined the practice in the Empire Block, which was torn down and replaced by the current Empire Building. Dr. Plotsky practiced until he passed away in 2002. The current partners are Dr. J. Evans who joined the practice in 1983 & Dr. S Tromposch who joined in 1985.
A picture of our first office can be seen at the bottom of the page. Photo is courtesy of the Edmonton Archives. Photo is circa 1930.
Dr. A. Atwell joined the practice in 2004 and all our Optometrists look forward to meeting you and solving your vision needs.
The downtown clinic, 1st Street Eye Centre, is located in the main foyer of Commerce Place since 1995 and we have expanded into two additional locations. One in the North East Edmonton located on 50 St., and the other in Sherwood Park both operating under the name of Village Eye Centre.
